Exhibitor Bulletin #1
ATTENDEE ENGAGEMENT
Over the three days of the show, we expect to draw a great number of industry professionals… all anxious to see the latest in assembly products and services. In fact, last year we had nearly 3000 qualified attendee buyers visit the show floor. The challenge for you, short of physically yanking them in from the aisles, is how do you get attendees to come into your booth and engage with you? The answer is of course multi-faceted, but here are some suggestions we would recommend you consider.

Let your key customers and prospects know that you will be exhibiting in the show, i.e., telephone, email, and/or mail something to them. Consider offering, “show specials” (i.e., some type of discount or deal) that are only offered at The ASSEMBLY Show. The more work you do in advance, the better the results will be for you at the show.

Also, in case you weren’t aware, exhibitors have FREE access to the list of pre-registered attendees to contact! You can also get the post-show list as well for follow-up after the event.
Welcoming Booth Design
This may seem obvious, but we can tell you from experience that many exhibitors don’t consider this. As you’re designing your booth, make it easy for attendees to enter and walk around in it. Even if you have a small space, do not have tables at the front of the booth blocking attendees from entering. If you do, chances are they will walk right by.
"Hands-On" Experiences
A great example of this is something we saw at last years’ show. An exhibitor created a timed game, utilizing their product, during which attendees could win a prize if they tried it. Attendees were drawn to the booth by seeing other attendees playing the game and having fun. They then went into the booth and played the game and at the same time engaged with the exhibitor re: the products.

Isn’t this the optimal objective for an exhibitor? To engage face-to-face with the buyer and be able to inform and educate them about their products? Now, we realize that not every product lends itself to a “hands on” experience, but even some type of a product demo on a touch screen can be turned into a fun (and educational) experience. If you would like any help brainstorming ideas, please feel free to contact Jack Thompson and he would be happy to assist you.
Post-Show Follow-Up Plan
To maximize the results of all your pre-show and on-site show efforts, we would suggest that you have a post-show follow-up plan in place before you arrive at the show. Besides getting leads distributed to the appropriate sales member for quick follow-up (strike while the iron is hot) you should think about how you will measure your return on investment, as sales orders from The ASSEMBLY Show, could come in several weeks after the actual event.

As previously mentioned, the post-show attendee list is available to exhibitors at no charge. As well, we would suggest you consider renting a “Lead Retrieval Scanner” to capture attendee contact information when they visit your booth. Learn more and place your Lead Retrieval order here.

Again, if we can help with any suggestions for follow-up, please feel free to contact Jack Thompson and he would be happy to discuss ideas with you.
