How to optimize your VRF/VRV installation and simplify maintenance

To be repurposed for government use, a building constructed in 1983 needed a complete redesign and renovation. Cooling and heating were one of the many areas needing a major upgrade.

Considering the requirement for energy efficiency, design engineers determined a VRV system was the solution. Originally the plan was the install the linesets underground – from the point where they exited the building until they reached the condenser. This would be problematic since concrete would need to be broken in case of maintenance.

To avoid the extra cost, and simplify maintenance, the VRV manufacturer recommended the use of Slimduct RD lineset covers.
