Successfully Avoiding Flash Rusting with Cambridge HTHV heaters

At Big River Steel, if the temperature inside the finishing mill falls below the dew point, flash rusting of the steel rolls could occur within 24 hours. It can happen that quickly. And unfortunately, they have no choice but to scrap the processed steel altogether. Cambridge S-Series direct-fired heaters were installed when the plant opened to keep the air warm, dry, and above the dew point to prevent moisture formation on the rolls. Big River Steel has been using Cambridge HTHV technology to successfully prevent inventory waste and avoid significant revenue loss ever since.
