Retrofit Doubles Cooling Capacity with 5-month ROI
Managers at a 227,000 sq. ft. class “A” Miami office building retrofitted 12 HVAC air handlers (one per floor) with Ultraviolet Germicidal UV-C fixtures to provide tenants with cleaner, healthier air.
In addition to boosting airflow levels by 43% and nearly doubling cooling capacity, the UV-C retrofit improved heat-transfer efficiency to the point where the same temperature was achieved using just 40% of the energy previously used. The project saved enough energy use to pay for the upgrade in just five-months.
